Royal Police Cadet Academy is the only under grauate and grauate institution of the Royal Thai Police,which has an equal status with
a bureau. Royal Police Cadet academy was first founded on 19 April 1902 by King Rama V,who provideed a piece of land in Pra Pathom-
jedi province (now Nakhon Pathom province) to establish Regional Police school. The academy has been relocated serveral times until
eventually in Sampran, Nakhon Pathom. Later His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen came to the opening ceramony of the
academy on 13 October1956,at 8.30 a.m. and gave a word of advice saying that the academy should serve as the main institution
providing education knowledge for its cadet who are able to support the general public in need.
 
Royal Police Cadet academy takes on responsibility to educate police cadets following the special curriculum which has always been
adjusted to changes of society. Nowadays the academy runs all the educational course under the police cadet curriculum(year 2006.)
The police cadet courses last 4 years and are divided into 3 parts, namely academic, trainging and extra-curricular. The courses follow the
educational philosophy aiming to produce police cadets who have full knownledge of police work and police administration, and thorough
understand of legal system concerning their field of work. Moreover, the academy has a duty to mould suitable physical characteristics
and morality into police cadets who will be appointed to commissioned sub-inspector according to the needs of the Royal Thai police.
 
Furthermore, the academy has been assingned to organize 4 trainging course which lasts about 3.5-4 months as follows:
 
1.a course for police trainees with a university degree
 
2.a course for police trainees who have a degree in Political Science, Law and Public Administration
 
3.a course for non-commissioned police offices with a university degree who transfer to commissioned field
 
4.a course for police senior sergeant major and police sergeant major who are appointed to commissioned police officers.
Due to the academy's responsibility to produce police cadet and police trainees who possess educational excellence, professional
expertise and spirit, the academy has set organizational strategies relative to the Constitution of Kingdom of Thailand (1997), the Nation-
al Aministration policy (2005 - 2008), Education Act (1999) and the strategies of the Royal Thai police Cadet Acdemy. The memtioned
strength and spirit, of administrative development and of police cadets' quality of life.
